Furnace Gas Valve Works Intermittently

The rv furnace will fire up but for some reason won t stay turned on.

You would need to take out the electrode and clean it off with an emery cloth or light sand paper. That would give you the intermittent issue. The smart valve gets 26 9vac at the connector but only puts out 0 5vac at the ignitor port and so won t light the ignitor and the valve no longer clicks i cannot get it to work intermittently as before. That may be the only problem.

Check to see if that is happening. It shuts down and won t maintain any heat. I got a new honeywell smart valve and was all excited to install it in and ran into a few glitches. If it lighted and then went out it could just be a dirty flame sensor electrode bad ignition module or gas valve.

When the spark turns on you should be getting 24 vac applied to the gas valve when the spark turns on. It is possible you have a problem with the gas valve. Goodman gas furnace intermittent gas valve problem. If the main burner gas isn t turning on when the spark does i d use a multimeter to measure the voltage being applied to the gas valve.

Getting less than 24 volts may 18 volts causing the valve to goodman gas furnace intermittent gas valve problem.
