If you are not satisfied with the result try adding one more washer.
Garage door bending at top when closing.
The clip assembly that holds the top garage door roller in place is not adjustable.
The track on can be adjusted away from the frame with one exception.
Anyone know of how to fix this.
You can go to your local door dealer to get this.
You actually have 2 problems 1 with the door and 1 with the opener.
First you need a reinforcing strut on the top panel.
The garage door bows right at curve of the track.
Struts provide additional support for the garage door panel s and help prevent bending of the panel s.
Depending on where the bend is in your garage door it may be stopping it from closing.
Reasons for binding garage doors.
Struts can be used on metal vinyl and wood garage doors.
Repeat for each of the 3 4 screws securing the roller assembly in place.
Loosen the top clip and place a flat washer between the metal plate and the door.
Usually there is a sticker stating this on the top panel.
It should be 20 25 dollars or so.
This binding will usually occur when the door is almost closed.
If this is happening to you there s no need to panic.
Most residential doors have a strut pre installed at the top of the top panel on the garage door.
It needs to be at the top of the door.
Struts can be installed on any of the panels.
Try operation of the door.
You have to physically push the bowed section out and then it will shut.
